Young & Presbyterian: Being The Miracle →
Some people today, say that miracles don’t really happen like they did in Biblical or ancient times. And to some extent, there right. You don’t see oceans parting, water turning into wine, or someone feeding over 5,000 people with just a few loaves of bread. Yet at the same time, these people…
“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you. Declares the Lord “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”
No matter what your going through, God has a plan for you, and he has done since before the day you were born.
The Healing
So, one of the men in my church had just come back from a healing seminar and he told us how many miraculous healings had occurred through the power of the spirit. When he arrived home, he went on facebook and someone in Afghanistan recognised him and they started chatting. The anonymous person had a severe back problem, which caused him constant pain. Soon enough this was brought up in their conversation and this man asked the other if he could pray for him. The man from my church was unsure as he was in New Zealand and the other in Afghanistan. Yet he had faith in Jesus and told the man to pray the words he typed aloud. After several minutes the Man typed back, bewildered, “The pain- it is going away!” So the churchman typed another prayer and another, and got the reply “It is all gone- the pain is all gone!” Faith is not confined to your close friends and country- facebook has us connected too and faith in the holy spirit is what healed this man.
Psalm 23;
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 5 You prepare a table before me This psalm helped me a lot when I was going through a death in the family. It can help you too if you carefully look at the meanings of the words in the passage :)
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
